The Route
Medina & Kasbah

Cap Spartel
Driving west from the city, you reach Cap Spartel — the northwesternmost point of mainland Africa. The lighthouse marks where the Mediterranean and the Atlantic officially meet. The views are panoramic and the wind is constant. On a clear day, you can see the Spanish coast 14 km away.
Hercules Caves
Just south of Cap Spartel, these sea caves have been carved by the Atlantic over millennia. The main chamber has an opening to the ocean that, viewed from inside, is shaped like the outline of Africa — a natural coincidence that makes for a memorable photo. The caves have been used since prehistoric times and are named after the mythological connection to Hercules' 11th labour.
Camel Ride at Achakar Beach
